Flying with children

Are you flying with one or more children? Children aged 2 and above need their own separate seat. The fare for this seat is the same as for an adult.

What are the luggage rules for children?

The following luggage rules apply to children ages 2 and up:

  • 1 piece of hand luggage of max. 55 x 40 x 25 cm and max. 10 kg. Want to be sure that your child's hand luggage can be brought on board? Make sure the hand luggage is no larger than 45 x 40 x 25 cm. This size bag fits under the seat in front of you or in the luggage compartment above your head.
  • Extra: Collapsible umbrella buggy of max. 10 kg. You can take this with you to the gate, from where it will be transported as hold luggage.
Please note: You can pick up your collapsible umbrella buggy from the baggage carousel after disembarking the aircraft.
  • Hold luggage can be booked when booking your flight, online via My Transavia or by calling the Service Centre. You can find more information on this on the hold luggage page.

Can I reserve seats for my children?

When you are checking in online you can choose your own seats from those available at the time. However, there may not be sufficient seats next to each other for you and your family. That is why you can reserve seats up to 48 hours before departure. The price starts from €4 per seat.

My child will be travelling alone, where can I find more information?

Will your child be travelling alone? Naturally, we will make sure the flight is as comfortable as possible. For more information, see our children travelling alone page.

Rules for travelling with a child under 18

Are you a parent travelling alone with an under-age child? If so, we recommend that you check the documents you will need. This also applies if your child is being accompanied by another adult. For more information about travelling with children, please visit the government website.
