Transavia preparing for possible strike by VNV members

Transavia is preparing for possible demonstrations to be held by members of the VNV (Dutch Airline Pilots Association).

The ‘Transavia Response Team’ is making the necessary preparations - should VNV decide to take action - to ensure that operations continue as smoothly as possible, in the interest of our passengers, employees and partners. Whether there will actually be demonstrations is not yet known. Negotiations were also scheduled for this week.

Transavia is currently carrying out negotiations with the VNV on the collective labour agreement, since the current one for pilots expired on 1 January 2017. The goal is and will continue to be to reach agreement. The negotiations show that Transavia and the VNV do not see eye to eye. In spite of this, the parties are doing their best to meet each other halfway. It goes without saying that no one benefits from demonstrations.

We will keep you updated as best as possible and advise you to keep an eye on the usual information channels.

We are posting the following announcement to passenger on our website.

Announcement dd 13-02 for passengers

Today, the Dutch Airline Pilots Association (pilot’s union) announced that it may hold demonstrations by handing out flyers to departing passengers at Schiphol. We strongly regret that our passengers are being burdened with a discussion about the collective labour agreement and are currently negotiating the collective labour agreement with the pilots. But we are still conducting discussions and, as yet, there has been no result. We are making every effort to reach agreement. We know that there may possibly be demonstrations, but at this time we have no concrete indication as to whether there will be demonstrations in the short term. We will keep you updated as best as possible and advise you to keep an eye on the usual information channels.
