Flying with children

Are you flying with one or more children? Children ages 2 and older require their own separate seat. The fare for this seat is the same as for an adult.

Luggage rules for children

The following luggage rules apply to children ages 2 and up:

  1. 1 piece of hand luggage of max. 55 x 40 x 25 cm and max. 10 kg. Want to be sure that your child's hand luggage can be brought on board? Make sure the hand luggage is no larger than 45 x 40 x 25 cm. This size bag fits under the seat in front of you or in the luggage compartment above your head.
  2. Extra collapsible umbrella buggy of max. 10 kg. You can take this with you to the gate, from where it will be transported as hold luggage.

Please note: You can pick up your collapsible umbrella buggy from the baggage carousel after disembarking the aircraft.
  3. Hold luggage can be booked when booking your flight, online via My Transavia or by calling the Service Centre. You can find more information on this on the hold luggage page.

Reserving seats

When you are checking in online you can choose your own seats from those available at the time. If you want to sit together as a family you can reserve your seats up to 48 hours before departure. The price starts from €4 per seat. By reserving, you will avoid disappointment if at check-in there are no longer enough seats available for you to sit next to each other as a family.

Children travelling alone

Will your child be travelling alone? Naturally, we will make sure the flight is as comfortable as possible. For more information, see our children travelling alone page.

Travelling with children under 18

If you’re travelling alone as a parent with a child under 18, please check which documentation you need to carry with you. This also applies if your child is being accompanied by another adult. Read more about travelling with children.
